Pumpkin was farmed in ancient Aegypt, in the Roman Empire, by the Arabs and Greeks, who imported it from India. With the discovery of the Americas new varieties came to Italy, initially eaten just by peasants. The following famine periodsand its versatility contributed to its spreading. We prepare this sauce with orange pumpkins and natural ingredients.
